Strategy

Is your strategy clear?

Strategy is defined as a plan of action to achieve a particular aim or objective. Every organisation needs to have a clear purpose and a co-ordinated plan to achieve that purpose. This then needs to be communicated and understood by all associated with the organisation. How many people can clearly state your organisation's purpose, priorities and plan? McGarry Consulting operate a three stage process; diagnosis, defining guiding policy (approach) and then develop coherent actions to carry out said policy.

How can McGarry Consulting help?

  • Carry out diagnosis – review organisation, competitors, and challenges within sector
  • Involve the team, listening to people individually and as part of wider team
  • Provide interim findings, facilitate focused discussion and develop coherent actions
  • Link in Strategy with available resources, budgets, pitches and business plans
Examples:

Third Age Foundation – Strategy
Third Age is one of the leading ageing support organisations in the Republic of Ireland. Third Age had grown quickly to 18 staff and 800 members, and encompassed many projects and programmes. We initially helped with governance and then building on that 'diagnosis', we worked with the team to develop a clear and coherent strategy for the next four years. This helped to redefine how the organisation operated, what programmes it should prioritise and building on its unique core strengths.

Causeway & Coast – Shared Economic Development Strategy & Action Plan
McGarry Consulting developed a Shared Economic Development Strategy on behalf of Ballymoney Borough Council, Coleraine Borough Council, Limavady Borough Council and Moyle District Council. The shared strategy had to reflect the individual resources, roles and key requirements of the Councils. The document was clear, concise and easy to read whilst supported by significant research and analysis.
