Thereafter we follow a simple three stage process; research, analysis and presentation of findings.

  • Can tailor small projects around existing reference material and desktop research
  • Provide public feedback through focus groups, surveys, site visits & public meetings
  • Publish results in a range of user friendly, readable and updatable formats
Examples:

Portaferry Community Collective – Community Inclusive Plan Developed a Community Inclusive Plan to help identify and resolve local issues; and support the work of over 20 community and sporting groups within the town. The Plan also addressed under represented and marginalised groups, such as older people and ethnic minorities. An online survey was followed by focus groups, informal visits and a public meeting which 50 people attended. In total over 300 people contributed to the report supported by a number of pertinent examples of best practice from elsewhere.

Coleraine Borough Council – Community Training & Development Model
CBC wanted to expand upon their Cohesiveness Policy by creating the first detailed Community Training & Development Model in NI. McGarry Consulting devised a community development spectrum from single issue to sustainable social enterprise, laying out the steps – and skills - required of individuals, groups and statutory agencies to progress along the spectrum. The model was based on extensive discussion with local groups and in-depth analysis of national and international best practice.
